Where are you in your life?
The personal insurance services that Stillwell Risk Partners provide are designed for families who own their homes. While we can still provide service to you if you don't currently fit within this mold, those who do will tend to get the most value.
Evolving coverage as your life changes.
We have found that families going through times of change - getting married, buying a home, having children, teenagers getting their license, and sending your kids off to school - tend to get the greatest value from our services.
These are times when life is changing. They are busy times in your life and insurance may not be the thing that's most on your mind. But insurance is important to making sure you keep what you've already earned - and to make sure you're future is protected.
Getting Married
When you get married, you combine your life with that of your partner. Part of this includes tying your finances to each other. Your insurance policies should be re-evaluated and combined to provide the right protection.
Once the honeymoon's over and you're settling into your life together, take some time to review your insurance. It's common to see one spouse have a policy with good limits and another with state minimum limits that provide next to no coverage.
Buying a Home
Buying a home is exciting, but it can also be stressful. There's a lot of work you have to do before getting to settlement and part of that is getting Homeowners Insurance.
When you get your homeowners insurance in place, make sure your agent is giving you education about the risks you face as a homeowner and about the different types of coverage options available to you.
Don't forget to review your car insurance at the same time. Car insurance doesn't just protect your car from damage, it also gives you legal protection when accidents happen. Buying a home means you have more to protect, so make sure it's protected!
Kids
When you have kids, your priorities change. It may be a cliché, but that doesn't mean it's not true. If you don't have life insurance yet, it's time to get it. If you're ability to earn an income isn't protected, it's time to look at disability insurance.
This is also just a good time in general to review your financials. Kids change so much about your life and money isn't excluded. Part of a good financial review is reviewing your insurance - if it hasn't been done in a while, make sure you set aside some time.
Teenagers
As your children grow up, one of the first real marks of becoming an adult is getting licensed to drive. For parents, the worry about car accidents and injuries is very real. What often blind-sides parents is the additional cost to add your teenager to your policy.
At Stillwell Risk Partners, we can help you learn about the risks young drivers face so you and your kids are better prepared. We can also help you with costs by finding the right insurance carrier and making sure you get all the discounts you qualify for.
The Empty Nest
As your kids become adults, your coverage needs become simplified in one degree, and more complicated in another. Where is your child's official residence? What coverage does your policy give them when they're away at school? What if they live at home after school? How well are they protected once they get their own policies?
The questions your family has can be very different from those of your friends and we're positioned to answer them all for you. We'll also continue to make sure everything you've earned so far in life is protected as you find more of that hard to find free time and as you plan for your retirement.
